State of the Art: A Masterpiece of Interior Design

Shih-Hsien Yuan and Yi-An Chen's Award-Winning Residential Design

The inspiration for this design came from the desire to create a warm and comfortable living space for the residents. The designers achieved this by using travertines to decorate the matte TV wall on the fireplace, transforming the living room into a cozy area. The design is characterized by the use of contrast and contradictory design methods, which create a transition between mental and physical elements. This approach results in a luxurious, fashionable, and romantic atmosphere that the residents can enjoy.

The realization of this design was made possible through the use of various materials such as metals, rocks, and mirrors. These materials were used to create colors and lines that divide the entire space into distinctive areas. The combination of delicate and rough textures of these materials creates an adverse visual effect, showcasing the intersections between visual and reality.

The design, which covers a space of 200 square meters, is a testament to the designers' ingenious design skills. The high-grade design manifests the elegant, cheerful, and quality of life, reaching its perfection through the creation of a magnificently mysterious atmosphere. The mirrors installed along the corridor and dining room further enhance this atmosphere by manifesting the interchange of people and images.

Despite the limited space, the designers were able to overcome this challenge by skillfully applying the headboard cover and iron lamps. These elements display the interactions among themes in each space, further enhancing the overall design. The project was completed in February 2015 in New Taipei City, Taiwan.
